Counting Diapers

Let me say that as adorable as she looks in the picture, Melissa and I wish that she would sleep like that at night! In the past hour I have done three diaper changes, feed her about 2 ounces of expressed breastmilk, not to mention the several feedings Melissa did beginning at 9:30. This is all due to her sleeping at the laundromat. Which was really nice to get out for a bit. It's been really great that Melissa will not feel weird breastfeeding in public. I gotta say that I admire her for committing to breastfeeding Alison overall. It is rather exhausting for her, especially at night. We are 100% breastfeeding so I really can't feed her formula at night, except only when we have some expressed milk in the fridge. So it is a HUGE commitment, but the benefits are amazing for both mother and baby!

One Size Does Not Fit ALL!

We began using the newborn size diapers, but they were kinda just hanging off her, and we had some projectile doodie fly out of the diaper. We thought we would try the preemie size, and sure enough perfect! I also picked up a onesie in a preemie size which she is wearing in the pic above and it fits nice and snug. Now the funny thing is that she was born at 38 weeks, so she is a tiny lil thing, but she is a beautiful lil thing! Melissa and I love every second with her. Below is one of the several videos that we have of her. I just love the look on her face, when she is focusing on the contrast of colors.

Welcome home Alison Blanca!

I am happy to announce that our baby girl Alison Blanca Ainsworth-Trujillo was born on April 14th, 2009 @ 8:52 AM. Her birth weight is 6lbs. 10 oz. and she is 18 1/2 inches.
But before we had her all bundled up, lil miss thang had a lil poopoo in the womb. Fortunately she did not swallow or breath in any of it. So they had her a transition room with some oxygen so she could adjust to her new enviroment. The nurse said that all babies delivered through a C-Section are treated like that. I was able to check in on her whenever I wanted.

(In transtiton with oxygen)

(In transition without oxygen/with antibiotic cream on her eyes)

She was in transition for about 8 hours until Melissa was able to be with her.

HI!

Greetings from the womb!
My name is Alison Blanca Ainsworth Trujillo.... whew! That was a mouthful!
Mommy and Daddy call me 'blueberry'. They're goofy.
My mommy and daddy started this blog for me so that we can share moments of me growing up with family and friends.
From the muffles that I hear in here, I am a healthy baby girl, weighing in at seven pounds so far and get lots of 'hiccups'- whatever those are.
I'm expecting to make my debut in a few weeks, not much room in here, getting kinda cramped.
I can't wait to meet Mommy and Daddy and everybody so we can play and give each other lots of hugs and kisses.
Bye-bye!
