WARNING: Toy may cause motion sickness

As Alison has been developing, we have noticed that she likes to bounce or "dance".... alot! So we decided to go out and purchase a bouncer for her since it is becoming her favorite thing to do. However to our disappointment the bouncer that we were looking for was out of stock, and Melissa was very sad because she had been promising Alison a new toy for her that day. As we looked for a "make-up" toy we came across this electronic ball that is suppose to help babies crawl. The ball moves around by itself coaxing the child to push and follow it as it sings songs and lights up. Well, Alison does not crawl yet nor is interested but she did take an interest in the ball by reaching for it and hitting it. As we were recording we were soooo proud and excited of our lil blueberry for picking up the ball by herself, and evidently Alison got really excited too because....

Wait for it....

No matter how hard I try to come up with a clever intro or description for this video of Alison, none will do. You just gotta do what the title of the post says.

Super Baby!!!

Everything about Alison and every moment with her just keeps getting more amazing. Let's see: the weight of her hair finally collapsed in on itself, to the point that we had to have her bangs cut...

she got to see the ocean for the first time (though she didn't seem happy about it till we were leaving!)...

oh, and she's begun 'solid' foods (well, baby cereal at least- she's not quite ready for the happy-meals)...

Four months and counting...

Alison is so silly-- right now she's expressing herself with various grunts and raspberries at Octavio & I-- oddly though she attempts vowel & consonant combos when she has her hand stuffed in her mouth.

And though we try not to let her watch any TV, she will on occasion watch UFC with her daddy, or Buffy with me :)

It's Official....

Alison has discovered that she has hands...(and that they're pretty tasty)

She's also starting to talk-

(sorry about the angle- if I try putting the camera in front of her she wont do anything but stare at it)

Little Miss Sunshine :)

Just a quick update:
Alison is now just over 2 feet long, weighs almost 13 pounds, and yes- everything revolves around her... :)

Eat, Poop, Sleep, Repeat

Just a quick update on everyone's favorite little blueberry....

She has gained over 3 lbs., plumping up nicely to 10 lbs. 5 oz., and grown just over 2 inches to 20 1/2 inches (we officially started using the height chart--thank you Ma!!!!). We had a bit of a scare recently: there was a bit of blood in her poopy, but after a visit to the doctor it is probable that she is allergic to the cows milk in mommy's milk. So Melissa is now on a dairy free diet. Which means more ice cream for me!!!! YAY!!!
Other than that, Alison is doing well; she is keeping up to her regular routine (see title of this post above)... She is actually passing gas very loud now too (giving her daddy competition), and she is almost sucking her thumb...

....oh- and she has a mohawk.... :)

What Is It?!?!

Melissa and I just learned that time isn't always what it seems. So far today from what I remember she woke me up to help with the Alison, I glanced at the clock on the microwave and say that it 6am. Melissa began the usual morning activities, then it was time for Alison to have breakfast. During Melissa suggested for us to watch a movie. During the movie Alison took a break from the breast for a diaper change, which then led a little bit of playtime, all this while Melissa and I watched the movie. Once the movie was over Melissa hopped in the shower while I rocked the baby to sleep, which during I thought to myself I think I'll throw some chicken on the grill, once Alison is asleep and Melissa is out of the shower. Once Alison was in a slumber and Melissa refreshed and clean, Melissa walks in studio and tells me "It can't be 9 in the morning!". I couldn't believe it either, Melissa and I thought it was midday, after all the stuff we did in the span of 3hrs! Imagine me grilling chicken breasts at 9 in the morning!

Little Dreamer, Big Smile

Everyday is a new day, and every new day could be good or bad. If you have bad day I say come back and look at this video of Alison. I guarantee it will cheer you up. When I watch it amazes me how beautiful life becomes when you are looking at your own child. To think Melissa and I created such a gorgeous little girl is amazing. We are blessed to have her in our lives. We Love You Alison.

Counting Diapers

Let me say that as adorable as she looks in the picture, Melissa and I wish that she would sleep like that at night! In the past hour I have done three diaper changes, feed her about 2 ounces of expressed breastmilk, not to mention the several feedings Melissa did beginning at 9:30. This is all due to her sleeping at the laundromat. Which was really nice to get out for a bit. It's been really great that Melissa will not feel weird breastfeeding in public. I gotta say that I admire her for committing to breastfeeding Alison overall. It is rather exhausting for her, especially at night. We are 100% breastfeeding so I really can't feed her formula at night, except only when we have some expressed milk in the fridge. So it is a HUGE commitment, but the benefits are amazing for both mother and baby!

One Size Does Not Fit ALL!

We began using the newborn size diapers, but they were kinda just hanging off her, and we had some projectile doodie fly out of the diaper. We thought we would try the preemie size, and sure enough perfect! I also picked up a onesie in a preemie size which she is wearing in the pic above and it fits nice and snug. Now the funny thing is that she was born at 38 weeks, so she is a tiny lil thing, but she is a beautiful lil thing! Melissa and I love every second with her. Below is one of the several videos that we have of her. I just love the look on her face, when she is focusing on the contrast of colors.

Welcome home Alison Blanca!

I am happy to announce that our baby girl Alison Blanca Ainsworth-Trujillo was born on April 14th, 2009 @ 8:52 AM. Her birth weight is 6lbs. 10 oz. and she is 18 1/2 inches.
But before we had her all bundled up, lil miss thang had a lil poopoo in the womb. Fortunately she did not swallow or breath in any of it. So they had her a transition room with some oxygen so she could adjust to her new enviroment. The nurse said that all babies delivered through a C-Section are treated like that. I was able to check in on her whenever I wanted.

(In transtiton with oxygen)

(In transition without oxygen/with antibiotic cream on her eyes)

She was in transition for about 8 hours until Melissa was able to be with her.

Today

Hey everybody, will it turns that today is the day. The doctor says that mommy and daddy have to induce, the water stuff in here is running low. So I should be born today or tomorrow. I'm so excited to meet my Mom and Dad!

Saturday, April 11, 2009

HI!

Greetings from the womb!
My name is Alison Blanca Ainsworth Trujillo.... whew! That was a mouthful!
Mommy and Daddy call me 'blueberry'. They're goofy.
My mommy and daddy started this blog for me so that we can share moments of me growing up with family and friends.
From the muffles that I hear in here, I am a healthy baby girl, weighing in at seven pounds so far and get lots of 'hiccups'- whatever those are.
I'm expecting to make my debut in a few weeks, not much room in here, getting kinda cramped.
I can't wait to meet Mommy and Daddy and everybody so we can play and give each other lots of hugs and kisses.
Bye-bye!
